Being a small business owner and helping other small businesses grow has been my career passion since forming DMD Data Systems (now Volta) in 1996. I’m involved in a myriad of different business groups around Lexington, which affirms my professional beliefs. I am the chair of Commerce Lexington’s Business Owners Advisory Boards, and I lead a group of around 10 established small businesses in the Lexington area. I also hold a position on Commerce Lexington Executive Board and am the founder of Lexington Executive Exchange, a monthly small business support program. In 2010, I was honored as the Commerce Lexington Small Business of the Year, and in 2011 the SBA Business Person of the Year for Kentucky. I frequently speak to audiences about small business concerns and development.
I created Tek Agency LLC because I wanted to be able to share my experiences with others and allow for other companies and individuals to enjoy the fun I had of creating something on my own, and then developing a culture of excellence and accountability.
